The Night Marchers - See You In Magic Reporting by Keyan Reid
The guy singing for the Night Marchers, John Reis, has apparently been in ten million different groups, such as Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes, and the Sultans. And though I haven’t heard any of those other bands, I imagine that, with Reis singing, they probably suck. I mean, this guy sounds like a poor man’s Mike Ness (of Social Distortion fame). But Mike Ness already sounds like crap, so, you know…..Just picture this guy. Doesn’t that make you want to go buy the CD now? Yeah, I feel a little burned, having picked this one up. I honestly have to wonder about these guys. Did they really sit around, feeling the need to make this album? Were they artistically driven to produce this collection of songs? And if so, can we quarantine them so that blasé faux-punk like this doesn’t surface again? To be fair, I’ve covered far, far worse albums than this one
here, and to judge by way of relativity, I don’t think it would
be right to lay down a “Burn It” rating on these guys. But
damn it, they’re close. Very close. One more uninspiring track
on this album probably would have tipped the scales. Instead, I’ll
be content in saying to my fellow Thugs that you simply shouldn’t
drop your hard earned ducats on this one. The chances are that you would
be quite disappointed if you did. Quite disappointed indeed. Keyan Reid Rating:
